As the weather begins to improve and with COVID-19 emergency orders still in place, most of us are actively searching for ways to get out of the house and safely enjoy a beautiful spring day with our family in Toronto. The Toronto Zoo has pivoted to a new and safe way of catching up with your furry friends and is set to open its Scenic Drive-Thru Safari on Saturday, May 23rd!

The New Toronto Zoo Scenic Safari tour offers families the chance to tour around the Zoo from the comfort of your own car complete with your very own guided commentary (Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Google Podcasts) teaching you about the animals as you pass by. This 45-minute, 3.4-kilometre tour gives visitors the opportunity to see the Zoo from a whole new angle, as visitors will be travelling on “staff-only” roads- even through the lion cave! Enjoy a new and exciting visit at the Toronto Zoo like you are on a real-life African safari, keeping your eyes peeled at every turn. Now, this sounds like a great family day-trip doesn’t it? Tickets will go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 21st and they must be purchased in advance.

“We are so excited to introduce this new experience to our guests. We have truly missed welcoming people to our Toronto Zoo and this is a new and innovative way for our guests to enjoy the Zoo in the safety of their own vehicles,” Dolf DeJong, CEO of the Toronto Zoo, said in a release.
