As first time home-buyers we were excited and terrified to make the biggest purchase of our lives. We had very high expectations for our first home and were entering into a very competitive market. In addition, my husband and I come from a client servicing background so we also had very high expectations of our Realtor, and Mike and Max most certainly delivered. Both of them are smart, patient and genuine professionals who take their work seriously. They have a strong understanding of the market; they are well informed and always made themselves available to answer any questions we had. Mike and Max took the time to listen to what we wanted, understanding not all clients are the same, and used our time together to educate us so we were informed buyers. As a starting point, they arranged a number of viewings in the 2-3 key neighborhoods we were interested in, so we could get a sense of what our budget would buy us in the varying pockets of the city. With each viewing, they highlighted all the pros and cons and at the end of the tour, would ask us what we thought of the house. What we really appreciated about both of them was that they gave us their professional opinion when we asked for it, as opposed to staying neutral and pushing the question back in our court. We wanted an expert perspective in order for us to make our decision. They also told us when we had to move quickly, but never pushed us out of our comfort zone. Finally we narrowed down our search to the High-Park/Swansea area and from there things moved fast, however by this point we were informed first-time home-buyers and knew exactly what we wanted and what we were willing to pay. Max and Mike sent us a listing on a Friday morning that meet 90%of our “must haves”, they strongly encouraged us to go see it that day and we were happy we did. They set up a private viewing before the For Sale sign was on the front lawn. We feel in love with the home and registered an offer by that afternoon and after one round of negotiation, we were home owners. We highly recommend Mike and Max to anyone looking to buy or sell their home; they are trustworthy professionals who truly value their clients’ business.
